Podcasting in the Media Center
Podcasts can be useful in today’s Media Center. Media
Specialists can incorporate podcasts into their lesson plans by downloading
existing podcasts, creating their own or having students create podcasts.
Types of Podcasts
There are two other types of podcasts that can be used other
than your typical audio only version. The enhanced podcast includes images and
URL’s that pop up at specific times during the audio recording. Then there is a
vodcast which combines both audio and video. Both types of podcasts can be
created by students and uploaded to the internet or school media center web
site.
Podcast Projects and Ideas
Podcasts can display on a television screen in the media center
on a continuous loop. Students can review their favorite books in a book talk
or book review. Larger media centers can
utilize the podcast for library instruction, library education or library
displays. News or history podcasts would also be useful. The possibilities are endless with some creativity.

Welcome to the blog for Team 6, MEDT 7477, Fall 2013.
To get started, team members will need to discuss the layout you want to use. Then you will check the course website for the schedule -- topics, as well as when each of you will do original posts and when you will be responsible for response posts to classmates.
